Chasing Sunshine: A Dreamy Day in Cinque Terre

Are you a fan of European getaways and soaking up the sun? Well, you’re not alone! There’s something magical about traveling and capturing memories through photographs. Reliving those experiences by browsing through old photos can bring back special moments and ignite the wanderlust within.

Cinque Terre, a coastal region in Italy, is a true gem and the perfect destination for a sun-soaked adventure. On this particular trip, we started in La Spezia and took a quick train ride to Riomaggiore. This charming village offers stunning views, but with limited spots to hang by the water, it’s not the most kid-friendly option.

To accommodate our little ones, we hopped on a boat for a brief ride to Manarola, where we basked in the picturesque scenery. In this lovely town, we indulged in pizza, explored the charming streets, and spent quality time by the water. With cliff jumping and family swims, Manarola offered the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.

Though we initially planned to stay longer and visit Vernazza, pregnancy-related lightheadedness cut our day trip short. However, that didn’t take away from the incredible memories we made as a family.

If you ever find yourself in Cinque Terre, here’s a little guide to help you choose the perfect village for your adventure:

  1. Vernazza – Ideal for longer stays, this town offers plenty of lounging areas on the rocks and a laid-back atmosphere.
  2. Manarola – Perfect for active travelers, this village boasts a beautiful hike, a fantastic restaurant, and exciting cliff-jumping opportunities.
  3. Riomaggiore – While it’s not the most convenient spot for families, its beauty makes it a great starting point for boat rides to other towns.

Boats typically charge around 100 euros per hour, but you might be able to find a flat fee option, making it an affordable and enjoyable way to explore Cinque Terre’s captivating coastline.

So, next time you’re planning a European escape, consider adding Cinque Terre to your itinerary for a dreamy, sun-filled adventure that you’ll cherish forever.
